After a recent visit to Amy’s Food Pantry in Rockford, our Video Bankers wrapped up their February Banking Outside the Box initiative. Employees at each of First Security’s 13 offices worked together to collect non-perishable food items. With the help of customers, who dropped items in our collection bins in each office, we donated over 700 items (which amounted to more than 2,000 servings of food) to Amy’s Food Pantry in Rockford.
Amy Fullerton, founder of Amy’s Food Pantry, began her food pantry journey as a project to achieve her Gold Badge for Girl Scouts. Through hard work and perseverance, Amy has been able to achieve success with the pantry and benefit many families in Floyd county as well as the surrounding counties.
“I was so excited to see the wonderful response to Amy’s Food Pantry from our local customers. Amy’s project is a great service to our community!” commented Linda Miller, AVP/Retail Banking Supervisor in Rockford. “The amount of work and organization necessary to provide for those in need does not go unnoticed.”
Carol Schrage, Retail Advisor in Rockford, included, “I would like to extend a huge thank you to the people of Rockford and those in all other communities that made any donations. We truly have great people that live in all of our banks’ communities.”
“It was great getting to meet Amy and everyone involved with the success of the pantry. It is truly amazing how one individual can create such an impact on so many individual’s lives,” stated Billi Kraft, Video Banking Supervisor. “Seeing all of our communities come together for such a great cause really reflects on what small town living is all about; helping one another out. I hope our food drive brings awareness to small town food banks and success to Amy’s cause.”
