December has been a busy month full of shopping, gift giving, and fun for our Video Bankers’ Banking Outside the Box initiative! First Security has partnered with The Spirit of West Fork for the past 7 years by displaying their gift tree at the bank. At the beginning of December, the tree is filled with stars which list two gift requests from students in need. The gifts are then anonymously purchased by those who wish to remove a star and they are later distributed to students within the school district before the holiday season. Our Video Bankers were able to purchase gifts for 5 students in the West Fork school district. Monetary donations to The Spirit of West Fork can also be accepted at First Security. These donations are used to fulfill the gift requests of the children. Each year, this organization helps provide for over 30 families in need during Christmas.
Pictured above (Left to Right) is Video Banking Supervisor, Billi Kraft, and Video Bankers, Sara Titus and Jessica Hartwell, presenting the gifts they purchased for the program.
Kendra Thomas, who joined Kraft in purchasing their gifts commented, “We were able to purchase two winter coats, socks, three pairs of leggings, a make-up kit and an art kit for the kids. I did not realize when starting at the bank my job was going to provide me the opportunity to help give back to the communities we serve. These experiences are one of the best parts of my job. I love knowing that I am making a difference to others.”
