Hy-Vee, Inc. Data Breach

At First Security Bank & Trust, your financial security is our top priority.  You may have seen some recent headlines about a security breach regarding payment information at Hy-Vee, Inc. grocery stores, and we want you to know that we have NOT heard of any of our customers’ information being compromised.  We are monitoring this situation closely.  For the full details about which types of payments were affected, go directly to the Hy-Vee website here:

This incident, and many others like it, serve as good reminders that we all need to take steps to protect our personal information.  First Security makes that easy for you in several ways:

Add Image   Through our mobile banking app, you are in control of how your card is used.  In the app, you can check balances, transfer money and deposit a check, and you can also completely block transactions on your card.  This feature can be turned on and off through the app.  This means you can unblock, make your purchase, and then block the card again.
     
Add Image   You can also set transaction limits on your card through the app.  Do you know you won’t be spending more than $50 or $100?  Set that as your limit, and any transaction over that will be denied.
     
Add Image   You can set a specific area where your card can be used.  You may want to block all international transactions, or if you know you won’t be going far, set a radius around a certain area.  If your card is stolen and someone tries to use it outside that radius, it’ll be blocked.

  You can block certain types of merchants like restaurants, gas stations, even retail stores.
