We at First Security want to take a moment to let you know about the steps we’re taking to address the spread of the Coronavirus, and to help you learn more about the ways you can avoid unnecessary contact while still taking care of your banking needs.
First – what we’re doing. We’re following public health recommendations regarding increased sanitizing of surfaces, personal cleanliness, and limiting unnecessary contact. We’ll defer to the experts for the steps you should take in this regard, but we’re providing some links to informational resources which you’ll find below.
Meanwhile, there are several steps you can take to limit your contact with others while banking.
Start with Video Banking. These machines are available at eight First Security locations and they’re open earlier and later than traditional bank lobby hours. They're open from 7am to 7pm Monday through Friday, and from 7am to 1pm on Saturdays. You can use Video Banking to get cash, deposit checks and cash, make a payment, transfer funds, and most importantly, speak with a real person – without having to venture inside the bank.
We’re the only bank in north Iowa to offer Video Banking, and we’re very proud of the extended service it offers you. However, it’s just part of our commitment to technology that gives you ultimate flexibility. Log into online banking at 1stsecuritybank.com and you can check your balances and transfer funds between accounts. You can even open a new account online thanks to some recent upgrades.
You may also want to download our mobile app. The links to that are also provided below. Our mobile app will allow you to do everything you can do through online banking – PLUS – you can deposit checks just by taking a picture. You can also limit your risk of fraud by turning your debit cards on or off - or limit the geographic areas where your cards can be used. You can even limit the types of stores where your card can be used.
When you’re at the store, you don’t have to touch the checkout terminal if you use our Mobile Wallet. Sign up for Apple Pay®, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay™* – again, there’s a link below – and you can link your First Security accounts to your phone. Then, use your phone at any compatible terminal – no contact needed – and the payment is fast and secure.
