Drilling and Marzen Earn Certificates from Consumer Credit School

Sheila Drilling, Retail Banking Supervisor at First Security Bank in Riceville, and Brittany Marzen, Retail Advisor at First Security Bank in Charles City, have successfully completed the Iowa Bankers Association Consumer Credit School.

The school is an intense one-week program sponsored by the Iowa Bankers Association. The purpose of the IBA Consumer Credit School is to prepare consumer credit personnel who want to broaden their consumer credit knowledge or who have not been exposed to formal consumer credit education, to serve effectively and profitably as consumer credit officers. This is accomplished by developing a better understanding of the consumer credit function, deepening the comprehension of the managerial aspects of consumer credit operations and developing and refining the administrative and human relations skills necessary to meet the credit needs of their customers.

Drilling has 22 years of banking experience and manages the retail banking department at the Riceville branch, where she is responsible for a variety of duties. She assists at the teller line when needed, opens new accounts, and provides quality control on all new and existing checking and savings accounts for First Security. Drilling has been in the community for nearly 30 years and is very actively involved. She is the Committee Chair and Treasurer for the Riceville Boy Scout Troop 1031, Riceville Girl Scout Leader, member of the St. Paul’s Bell Choir, and is also a Sunday school teacher at St. Paul’s Maple Leaf Lutheran Church. When she isn’t working, Drilling enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with her five kids.

Marzen joined First Security in 2014 with many years of retail experience. Since then, she worked in several areas and offices at First Security. She started in Deposit Operations in Charles City, handling calls from customers in any market area, to working on the front line in both Marble Rock and Rockford offices. Then, she moved to the Hampton office to work as Lead Retail Advisor, and recently, came full circle and joined the Charles City staff again as a Retail Advisor. In this role, she works directly with customers to provide a wide range of banking services. When not at work, Marzen is involved in the Rockford PTO as a volunteer and enjoys spending time with her young family.
