First Security Announces Julie Lee Retirement

First Security Announces Julie Lee Retirement

After a 22 year career in banking, Julie Lee is retiring on December 18th.

Julie was born in Riceville. Aside from a 21 year stint in Rochester, she has continued to live in her hometown.

While in Rochester, Julie worked for a computer service company that processed daily debits, credits, and other transactions for banks. It was her introduction to the banking world. In 1997, when her family moved back to Riceville, Julie was asked by employees at First State Bank, which eventually became First Security, to interview for a job. An offer was made, and she accepted.

Since then she has worked in many areas of banking. She has primarily worked as a Teller and Retail Advisor and has been involved with duties related to bookkeeping, proof/capture work (the bank process that posts funds to accounts), and customer service.

Some of her favorite memories of her career have been the times she’s helped customers and seen their gratitude. She also appreciates the many friends she’s made in her coworkers and customers over the years.

Additionally, Julie has also been an active volunteer. She has participated in the Riceville Scholarship Fund, the Immaculate Conception Church, and the Cub Scouts as a leader.

After retirement, she plans to continue some of her volunteer work. She also looks forward to spending more time with her family and sisters. She will enjoy seeing her grandchildren more often, and hopes to travel and get caught up on home projects.

First Security Bank & Trust has locations across North Central Iowa and headquarters in Charles City. Member FDIC.
