The First Security Bank & Trust Board of Directors and President/CEO Kurt Herbrechtsmeyer are pleased to announce the promotion of Carly Demro and Carrie Elfers.
Carly Demro will be moving from her current position of Service Center Specialist to Help Desk Representative. In this new role, she’ll be primarily responsible for day-to-day user support and customer service of First Security’s network. She’ll assist in training employees in using bank equipment and software and promoting standardized operating procedures. She will also work to maintain a secure network environment and meet various bank regulatory requirements.
Demro graduated with an AA from NIACC and a BA in Theater with a Minor in Digital Media from Buena Vista University. Prior to working at First Security, she spent a year at the Science Center of Iowa as a Visitor Services Associate, while also working for Meredith Corporation as a Food Stylist. Demro’s other experience since graduating college includes: Technical Theater Coordinator, Head Baker, and Photographer.
Outside of her work at First Security, Carly continues to be involved with baking and theater. She runs a bakery out of her home, Madison Street Bakery, and recently took on the role of Theater Director for Nashua-Plainfield School District.
Carrie Elfers has been promoted from HR/Marketing Assistant to Service Center Supervisor. In this position, she’ll direct the daily operation of the Service Center team. She’ll be responsible for providing ongoing training to the Service Center staff in many areas of customer service. This will include: deposit accounts, debit cards, online banking, safety deposit box opening and access, account reconciliation, and resolving fraud situations. Essentially, she will lead the Service Center in providing a one-stop customer service experience.
Elfers joined First Security in December of 2007. Since then, she’s gained experience in several areas of the bank. Primarily, she has worked in Retail and Deposit Operations. Before joining First Security, she worked for Theisen’s, where she attended the Management Training Program. The knowledge and customer service experience she’s received over the years in all of these positions will serve as a great foundation for her new role as Service Center Supervisor.
When Elfers is not at work, she enjoys spending time outside in her garden and with her dogs. She’s also an avid volunteer through bank and community events.
