The First Security Bank & Trust Board of Directors and President/CEO Kurt Herbrechtsmeyer are pleased to announce the promotion of Kim Schlader.
Schlader, who has over 20 years of banking experience, has been promoted to Retail Lending Manager. She started at First Security in 2001 and has worked in her role as a Retail Lender for most of that time. In 2010, she was promoted to Vice President, Real Estate Lending. For the last several years, Schlader has worked as the lead Retail Lender for her department. In this role, she was involved in training and educating First Security’s retail staff in their duties as they relate to retail lending. Additionally, Schlader herself is still involved in originating real estate loan applications, underwriting, and closing real estate and consumer loans. She is also active in First Security’s Compliance Committee.
Kim is a former student of NIACC and the University of Northern Iowa. She has been a lifelong resident of Charles City and has been a very active volunteer in the community. She is a member of the Floyd County Compensation Condemnation Board and is the Treasurer of the Charles City Post Prom and Graduation Committee. Schlader is a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, where she also served as a member of the school board and development board. Additionally, she is a past member of the Chamber of Commerce Board and the Iowa Banker’s Leadership Advisor Board as well as past Vice President of the Comet Booster Club.
When Kim is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family. Her family especially enjoys camping, boating, going to sporting events, and vacationing. Kim and Kalen, her husband of 32 years, have four children, Alex (Allie) Schlader, Makaila (Brad) Sloter, Karli (Brady) Cooper, and Noah Schlader. Kim and Kalen also have four grandchildren, Reese and Reagan Schlader as well as Weston and Wyatt Cooper.
