First Security Announces Schroeder Promotion

The First Security Bank & Trust Board of Directors and President/CEO Kurt Herbrechtsmeyer are happy to announce the promotion of Evelyn Schroeder.

Evelyn Schroeder, who works out of First Security’s Charles City location, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President/Compliance Manager and is taking over the role of Bank Secrecy Act Officer following Tove Lockie’s retirement. In this role, she’ll primarily be responsible for implementing and maintaining the laws and regulations required by the BSA compliance program as it relates to First Security.

Shortly before receiving her promotion, Schroeder learned that she’d been named to the Iowa Bankers Association’s Compliance Committee. As a committee member, she will be involved in providing comments and feedback on state and federal regulatory initiatives as well as recommending programs and products that enable banks to better manage their compliance needs. Additionally, she is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager through the American Bankers Association. To receive this credential, she passed a rigorous examination. She maintains her level of knowledge with ongoing education, and has proven to be an excellent resource for bank employees regarding bank laws and regulations.

Schroeder joined First Security in 2010 as Collateral Clerk with more than 15 years of experience in mortgage and consumer lending. She then moved into several different positions including Residential Mortgage Underwriter, Loan Operations Specialist, and Internal Audit Specialist. Prior to her promotion, she was First Security’s Compliance and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Specialist.

First Security Bank & Trust has locations across North Central Iowa and headquarters in Charles City. Member FDIC.
