First Security Welcomes April Miller

April 9th, 2021: The First Security Bank & Trust Board of Directors and President/CEO Kurt Herbrechtsmeyer are pleased to announce that April Miller has joined the bank as an accounting assistant.

In this position, she will support the accounting and finance department through processing business expenses, completing reconciliations, and posting general ledger entries. She will also assist with preparing various reports for management and the bank’s board of directors.

Miller, a Marble Rock native, has studied at Iowa State University since fall of 2017 and is finishing bachelor’s degrees in both accounting and management. She will be graduating with those degrees in May of this year. She is also working toward a Master of Accounting degree and Certified Public Accountant certification, which she should attain by December 2021.

While at Iowa State, Miller worked as an assistant manager for the campus cafes. She also held various internships, with the most recent being at Kingland Information Systems as a Data Research Analyst. Additionally, she is a member of the Collegiate Women in Business, Beta Alpha Psi, the Student Union Board at Iowa State University as well as the American Institute of CPAs and the Iowa Society of CPAs. 

She currently lives on a farm outside of Rockford with her fiancé, Treven. She enjoys their pets, which include 3 cats, 2 snakes, and 1 dog. She also likes to bake, read, kayak, and swim. She looks forward to time spent with family, and luckily they aren’t too far away. Her parents, Jeremiah and Joanne, and two younger brothers, Alex and David, live in Marble Rock.
