The First Security Bank & Trust Board of Directors and President/CEO Kurt Herbrechtsmeyer are pleased to announce that Susan Engelhardt and Cheryl Begley have joined First Security. They both join the bank as Retail Advisors. In this role, they will be responsible for a wide range of responsibilities. These include handling a variety of customer transactions, responding to customer inquiries, accepting applications for loans, and opening new accounts.
Susan is filling the opening at the Rudd office, which was available due to Michelle Warner’s move to the Charles City office. Susan is a graduate of Osage High School, and she grew up on a farm north of Osage. She has 43 years of retail experience, with the last 8 of them being at her own store, The Front Porch, in Osage. She recently decided she was ready for a new venture, and decided First Security would be a good fit.
When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her grandkids, her family, and her friends.
Cheryl, a return employee, has joined First Security’s Nora Springs staff. Cheryl started her banking career in 1978 as a part-time Teller through a program offered in high school. She spent many years working for First Security at the Charles City location and was primarily involved in the “back room” functions, which included processing checks, posting files, balancing general ledgers, posting ACH files and many other tasks. She has also worked in the retail area of banking as a Personal Banker.
Begley was born in Charles City, graduated high school in Spencer, Iowa, and then moved back to Charles City in 1997 with her son and late husband. When she’s not at work she enjoys spending time with her friends, her very extended family, and her new granddaughter.
First Security Bank & Trust has locations across North Central Iowa and headquarters in Charles City. Member FDIC.
