The First Security Bank & Trust Board of Directors and President/CEO Kurt Herbrechtsmeyer are pleased to announce that Deana Hanson, Shirley Schmidt, and Kristina Raisch have joined First Security. They join the bank as Retail Advisors at the Hampton and Thornton offices. In this role, they will be responsible for a wide range of responsibilities. These include handling a variety of customer transactions, responding to customer inquiries, accepting applications for loans, and opening new accounts.
Deana Hanson, who has joined the Hampton staff, is originally from Mason City but has lived in Bristow for the last 10 years. Prior to joining First Security, she worked at Shopko in Hampton. She is currently the City Clerk for Aredale, is on the Board of Directors for Hampton-Dumont’s Bird Busters Trapshooting Team, and she also volunteers with the Bristow Fire Department and Dumont Ambulance Service.
In her free time, Hanson enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband, Chad, have been married for 22 years. They have two sons, Zachary and Justin, and a young granddaughter. Hanson and her husband are also looking forward to riding their motorcycle this summer as well as enjoying their farm and garden.
Shirley Schmidt recently joined the First Security office in Thornton. She grew up in Eastern Iowa and attended school in Delmar and Elwood. Before joining First Security, she worked for Sheffield Care Center, CAL Community Schools, and the West Fork School District. She was also able to spend several years at home helping with the family farm and raising her children.
Outside of work, Schmidt has been involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and has been active with the First United Methodist Church of Thornton for 30 years. She enjoys spending time with her five grandchildren, attending as many of their events as possible, and always looks forward to planning road trips.
Kristina Raisch joins the First Security office in Hampton. She grew up in Louisville, Kentucky but later moved to Iowa to join her family. She received her BA degree in Psychology and Human Services from Buena Vista University.
She joins First Security with years of customer service and cash handling experience from Kwik Star and Fareway. She also joins the bank with office administration knowledge from her time working as the Main Street Coordinator for the Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce.
Raisch is also a very active volunteer. She is involved with many local organizations including the Franklin County Tourism Board, Main Street Design Committee, Windsor Theatre Board, Central Iowa River Partnership, Hampton Mission Possible, Hampton Sesquicentennial, and Hampton’s Historic Preservation Commission.
Outside of work, she enjoys time with her family, traveling, reading, watching movies, and gardening.
