Banks are closed on October 14th for Columbus Day, right?
In most cases, yes, but customers of First Security Bank and Trust know that the definition of “bank holiday” is changing. For several holidays, including Columbus Day, Presidents’ Day, Veterans Day, and Christmas Eve, First Security has offered extended service hours when other banks are closed. Columbus Day of this year, which falls on October 14th, is no exception. On this day, First Security will be open from 1pm – 7pm through the use of Video Banking!
Since 2015, First Security has been able to extend face-to-face service hours beyond those of the competition with the use of Video Banking. Otherwise called “Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs)”, this technology is some of the most progressive in the industry. It allows customers of First Security in 8 North Iowa Communities to stay in their car while they speak to a real-life teller based in Charles City. Customers can withdraw cash, deposit checks, cash checks down to the penny, transfer funds, make loan payments, and do nearly everything they could do by walking into the bank lobby. Best of all, they can have a face-to-face conversation with a bank representative beyond regular banking hours.
At First Security, video banking is offered from 7am – 7pm Monday through Friday, and 7am – 1pm on Saturdays. That’s 66 hours of service every week! This market-leading technology is offered in North Iowa ONLY at these First Security locations:
Charles City – 809 Clark Street
Hampton – 220 First Street NW
Manly – 3598 Orchid Ave
Nora Springs – 26 West Congress
Riceville – 109 Woodland Ave
Rockford – 201 West Main Ave
Rockwell – 319 Main Street
Thornton – 308 Main Street
Further Benefits of ITMs
-ATM / debit cards are not needed. Video bankers can visually identify customers through other means.
-Transactions are paperless, so customers don’t need to fill out a withdrawal or deposit slip.
-ITMs also operate as traditional ATMs when video banking is unavailable.
-It’s just fun. See some of the reactions people have to speaking to a video banker here.
