Stice Earns Certificate from the Iowa School of Banking

Tommy Stice, AVP/Senior Credit Analyst with First Security, has successfully completed the 2019 Iowa School of Banking.

The one-week, two-year school, offered by the Iowa Bankers Association, provides a challenging, educational experience in addition to peer networking. The interactive curriculum addresses the functions of banking departments, financial management, and the business of banking. Practical experience is gained through the use of a computer simulation, lectures, case studies, and discussion. The school faculty includes active bankers, consultants, and academicians, all of which are recognized experts in their fields.

Stice joined First Security in 2010 after moving to Charles City from Georgia where he had worked in banking for five years. He has been in the position of Credit Analyst since the inception of the role at First Security, and he’s been an important part of building this function at First Security. As Senior Credit Analyst, his duties include providing financial analysis for Ag/Commercial customers as well as support to loan and board committees to aid in credit decisions. Over the years, he’s also been very involved in training new Ag/Commercial Lenders in a variety of duties, especially in credit analysis and developing financial statements.

Stice holds a Microcomputer Specialist Diploma and Accounting Diploma from Lanier Technical College as well as an Associate’s Degree in Biblical Studies from NTBI. He is a graduate of the Ag Credit and Commercial Lending Schools through the Iowa Bankers Association and has also obtained a Banking and Finance Diploma through the American Bankers Association. He, his wife, and their two sons reside in Marble Rock.
